How do I sort a distribution list by" Last Name"

My Contacts are sorted by Last name, but when I create a distribution list it
sorts by First name.

Were the DL's created in this version or imported?
What is the sort order for the Outlook Address Book?
What does the File As field show for the Contacts this DL?
