how do I sort excell files by date?

I prepare a A/R spread sheet each day and save them at the end of each day.
All sheets were kept in date order from 1/1 to 12/31. Now that 2009 has
started the 2009 sheets are co-mingled with the 2008 rather than continuing
on with the newest date at the bottom of the list How to I sort all the
files so that they are in order. I have vista and 2007 excell. all the files
are on an external drive that only has these spread sheets on it. There is
lots of room on this drive.

This is a Vista issue and not an Excel issue.

You need to add the year also to your file names. Vista provides facilities
for bulk rename.
