how do i stop being asked to confirm deleting in word

when i highlight a box/paragraph/etc then press delete on the keyboard, i
think have to press the Y key to confirm that i would like to belete the
section. this is very frustrating...can you help?

Tools | Options | Edit tab and place a checkmark in Typing Replaces Selection.

Sounds as if you need to turn off these settings:
Select Tools > options > General tab and deselect “Help for WordPerfect
users†and “Navigation keys for WordPerfect usersâ€. Click OK.
