how do I stop blank headers in sorted view???

while in inbox (outlook 2003 sp2), i sort all my messages by FROM. i get
blank headers and can not scroll down beyond those headers. I have to click
out of the inbox and come back to it. Example: Joe Brown has sent me 3 emails
in the past. They show up when I sort by FROM under Joe Brown. Along with
those 3 messages i see 15 blank messages, no subjject, from, or date. The
blanks look almost like place markers. I can not scrool beyond them, i have
to click on Calendar and back to Inbox to get scroll working again. Now that
I have the scroll back, I go to Joe Brown and see only 3 messages for him.
The next person (or 3 people down) now have those blank "place markers, and I
have to start the process over again!!

HELP!!
