How do I STOP having an Office program start when I turn on my PC

I am running Windows 2000 Professional. Recently, when I boot up, Word
automatically starts. This is a real nuisance. Does anyone know how I can
stop this? (I have found guidance on how to START an Office program
automatically when I turn on my PC; however, I can't find guidance on how to
STOP it.)

Remove the shortcut from your startup folder.
