Have you tried turning off Caps Lock?

It sounds like you're running Windows 95/98/ME. Which version are you
using? Which version of Publisher are you using?

When you click the Details button, what does the error say? (You can
copy and paste the first few lines of the error into a message window.)

With Publisher XP, I have a similar problem as Andrea. When opening a
publisher file, an illegal operation message appears. Details shows a general
protection fault in Module EPIGUECR.DLL at 0009:000016c2.I can open publisher
but not an existing file. Operating system is Windows 98. How can I correct
the fault?

Do you have an Epson printer?

Could be a printer driver failure, go to the Epson site and look around for an
updated printer driver. If a new driver is not available, re-install the one you
have.

It is always best to completely remove your driver before
installing/reinstalling.
