How do I stop Inline Frames from carrying over to the next page.

Where/how are you inserting it into your page(s)?

Hi Thomas -

I'm creating a basic 4 page family website with photos of my wife and son on
the main page. The problem that I was having in the first place was trying
to arrange photos the way that I wanted them on the main page, but frontpage
would let me until I select the photo and then click the position absolutely
button. By doing this it would put a layer around the photo so I could move
it around anywhere I wanted it. The bad thing about doing this is trying to
center all photos and text to the page. When I change resolutions from 1024
x 768 (which is what I created this website in) to 1280 x 1024 now the text
and photos have shifted off center. So I started over and opened a new blank
index.htm web page and inserted an Inline frame and then centered the frame.
Now when I put all my photos and text in this frame and change resolutions
everything is still centered like it should be regardless of what resolutions
I use. The problem that I'm having is that I have an Enter button in the
center of my Inline frame page which hyperlinks to another page where I
diplay my family photo albums. When I click the Enter button it will bring
me to the hyperlinked page but the Inline Frame and it's parameters come with
it. This now messes up my family photo album page. I've set the target
frame to use a new window when hyperlinking but that didn't work. I've also
cleared my cache but that didn't work either. Please assist. Thank you.

Can you provide a URL to page with this issue?

Hi Tom -

Sorry it took so long to reply. I'm a new Dad so I have my hands full.
Anyway, here is the link to my web site. The main page should come up fine
with a double white line around all photos and text. This double white line
is the inline frame. Notice when you click on the Enter button it will take
you to page 2 which is where my problem is. The Inline Frame carries over to
the next page and doesn't display the page correct if at all. What's suppose
to be on page 2 is my flash photo album with interactive buttons on the top.
I'm pretty sure that I figured out that it has something to do with main page
and the inline frames messing up page 2 because if I create a normal page
without the inline frame then link to page 2, I have no problem with page 2
displaying. However, as explained earlier, I can't create a normal main page
because of the center of my photos and text when changing resolutions.
Please assist. Thank you. Link to my website is http://thehiersfamily.com

1. You could create this site without using the IFrame, just by using tables or CSS positioning.

2. Your page two is a frameset which may be why it will not load in the IFrame.

3. You need to set the frame target value of the Welcome link to Whole Page (_top)

Because of your use of VML Graphics (text boxes, WordArt, etc.) only family members running IE under
Windows will see the site as currently designed.

Because of the redirection of http://thehiersfamily.com to http://www2.thehiersfamily.com:23, I was
not able to access your site in Netscape 7, Opera or FireFox without have to change some security
settings.
