Are you using Outlook as your email client? Have you got Outlook setup to
use Word as the Email Editor? Why do you want to stop it? Once Word is
opened (which may be slow if you have a slow computer or insufficient
memory), even though you close the email, Word stays cached in memory so
that when you open your next email, opening is almost instant.
However, if you really want not use Word as your email editor, open Outlook
and go to Tools, Options, Mail Format tab and deselect the option.
