How do I stop office shortening the file name to the 1st characte.

Office97 running in XP will only save a file using the 1st character of the
name I give it. It worked OK when I was running Office under windows 98. Is
there any way I can get it to use the full file name I give it ?

With Word closed, use Windows Explorer or My Computer to find the WINWORD.EXE
file on your hard drive. Right-click on winword.exe, then left-click on
Properties | Compatibility. If the "Run this program in compatibility mode"
box is checked, uncheck it.
