how do i stop outlook from linking to msn messanger

Uncle has outlook as default email account and when he opens the progam it
alos brings in the msn messanger address book even though teh messenger
progam has been closed it still opens. There is no automatic sign in marked.

Cannot find any where to remove the link between the two.

Any help appreciated.
