how do I stop receiving duplicate incoming emails

I get 2 duplicate messages for every incoming messages. This started about a
month ago and is getting increasingly annoying. I only get this on one of my
computers. The same account on the other computer doesn't do that. both
computers have Outlook 2003 installed. How can I stop this? There are no
rules set up.

Try creating a new profile and set up the email account there to see what
happens.

Disable e-mail scanning in your anti-virus software. It is redundant
protection as the on-access (realtime) scanner will detect the pest and
is the same AV engine as used for e-mail scanning.

Check your rules to see if you have something that is making a copy. Also, un-integrate any AV or Firewall scanning in Outlook.
