How do I stop receiving multiple copies of the same email?

Every time Outlook checks email, I receive 2, 3, and sometimes 4 copies of
the same emails. This doesn't happen on every email, just some of them,
perhaps half. It isn't an issue of receiving the same set of emails as the
last time Outlook checked.

I am running Office 2003 Pro on Windows XP Home edition, on an HP zd8000
laptop pentium 4, with 1.024 G of Ram. This is the same configeration I have
had for 18 months, and this problem cropped up a few months ago.

I have downloaded and installed all of the latest Windows patches and
updates, as far as I know.

Help!
