How do I stop Word creating form fields when I copy/paste?

When I copy and paste a sentence in Word, a Text Form Field is being created
automatically with that sentence. What is causing it and how can I prevent
it from happening? I'm using Office 2003.

Thanks very much for your response. I did try to find that out but my
company has very restricted user access, so I'm unable to figure out if there
is an add-in loaded that could interfere with paste operations. Is there
anything else you can suggest?

You should be able to see if there is a document template (*.dot file) in the
Startup folder for Word. Look in Tools | Options, File Locations, to locate
the path for the Startup folder.

Another thing to consider: Is it possible that what you are seeing is the
Paste Options button, which displays (by default) when you paste something in
Word? You can turn it off on the Edit tab of Tools | Options.

Try starting Word in Safe Mode which will prevent any add-ins from running.
Hold Ctrl while starting Word and continue holding Ctrl until you are
prompted to start in Safe Mode. Also, we've encountered add-ins from Excel
that exhibit this behavior too so make sure only Word is running when you
start it in Safe Mode.
