How do I subtract one field from the same field in a previou reco.

I take meter readings for my digital printer monthly and I want to subtract
the previous reading (in the previous months record) from this to calculate
how many copies have been made and display the result in a report.

I am using Access 2007...but am clearly thick so a nice simple solution
would be great!
