How do I sync Contacts w/ Contacts (backup) in Outlook

Greetings-

So hindsight is 20/20. I used the import / export tool in Outlook to
attempt to create a CSV file for uploading contacts into webbased
programs such as Gmail and Linkedin (Now I know...I've read the
posts...dumb idea). Shortly after, I synced my Treo 750 (Windows
Mobile 5.0) last night. I noticed many contacts are missing both in
Outlook and the Phone.

When I open Outlook, I have multiple folders under the 'My Contacts'
tab which includes "Contacts" and "Contacts (backup)". Contacts
folder appears to align w/ the contacts on my phone while the Contacts
(backup) has some of the missing contacts.

Question:
How can I effectively merge the two Contacts folders so that I have
the missing contacts show up from "Contacts (backup)" in my primary
"Contacts" folder?

Beggers can't be choosers, but I'd prefer to not have to do this
contact by contact. Also if a merge is possible, can it be done in a
manner that doesn't create duplicates?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated by me and the missing
contacts who may think I hate them or don't want to do business w/
them.

Open the second contacts folder, select all it contains with Ctrl-A and drag
the selection to the default Contacts folder. Ctrl-click and drag produces
a copy instead of a move.

There is no mechanism built into Outlook to merge to contacts records into
one. How would that work? How would Outlook know which one should be
overridden?
