How do I sync two copies of an Office XP Word document between 2 p

I'm pretty sure there's a way to do this, but sometimes I'm sortuv dumm. I
want to sync two copies of a journal on two comps on a home network so that
when I make entries on either pc, the copy on the other pc will update also.
One of the pcs is a laptop, so I may have it afield somewhere and add to this
document and would like it to update the copy on my desktop whenever I return
the laptop and it reconnects to my home network. Thanks for any
info/guidance.
P.S. The journal in question is an Office XP Word document, and Office XP
is installed on both pcs, one XP Pro, one Vista Home Premium.
What are they infected with? Rage....

Well, judging by the thunderous volume of responses to what I thought was a
pretty simple question, maybe there is no standard, simple way to do this.
Whatever. Ol' Bob tersely advised me to look up Briefcase - yeah, umm, I did
that, read through the help documentation on XP AND Vista, applied said
information... and the whole Briefcase concept turned out to be such an
awkward, clunky, Rube Goldberg-ian, well-nigh unusable sack of ssshittt that
it made me want to punch babies. - Drag the Briefcase you want to change to
your other computer...sync the file you want to update...update the file you
want to sync...copy the original file to the Briefcase...drag the other
Briefcase outside and run it over with your car - It was ludicrous. I
finally said screw it and just dragged the more recent version of the file to
the folder with the other copy on the other pc and over-wrote it. Which,
wow, is what you're basically doing with Briefcase except it involves 23
extra steps and great emotional pain and heartache. Now I feel vindicated in
never having given two craps about the whole Briefcase accessory. Let us
never speak of it again.
