How do I synchronize data between Word and Access?

I want to create a Word template that contains 10 data fields in the document
header. I would to maintain a synchronized Access database entry containing
these same 10 fields. I am developing this for use with Office XP, but I
have Office 2003 at home. I might be able to persuade the end users to
upgrade to 2003.

Ideally, this same template idea could be applied to some Visio documents as
well.
