How do I tell Outlook 2007 to not retrieve messages at startup?

In Outlook Express I can tell the program to NOT retrieve my email at
startup, but for some reason I haven't been able to find any way to keep
Outlook 2007 to act the same way.. So at startup every time it runs out and
gets all new email.. At times I would rather it not do so..
Any help would be great!!
