How do I transfer audio files to Onenote froma a digital recorder

I have a digital voice recorder which I take to my lecture classes. I would
like to beable to transfer those files into Onenote. Is this possible?

Here's what I did:
Dropped an mp3 file onto a OneNote page
double clicked it to play it in ON
took notes as the audio played

Now I have the file embedded on the page, and when I play it back I get the
"bouncing dot" along the notes I typed.
