How do I transfer the electronic chgs of multiple users to 1 doc

In Word 2000 if you turned of redline in both documents combined them and
then turned redline on, the oridinal redlining of each document was
maintained. I'd like to be able to do the same with the 2003 version,
however I have not found a way to do it. Any ideas?
