I cannot get Outlook 2003 to accept Yahoo e.mails. Is there a problem or is
it a subscrption service. I am in Ieland - if that matters!!!!

I assume you mean to set your Yahoo up on Outlook. You can not do that.
If you want a free email account to work with Outlook may I suggest "gmail".

Many thanks for your reply and help. Is gmail the same kind of thing as
Outlook? Please forgive my ignorance on things computerish - how would i
transfer from Yahoo to gmail? Would you yourself recommend using gmail as
opposed to direct Yahoo ?

If you don't mind going online for mail there's no need to switch. However if
using Outlook is a priority I would change. Gmail is just like a yahoo
account. If you go to google and search gmail you can get it there. You might
need an invitation yet to sign up...if you do let me know I have 2
invitations left.

I was under the impression that pop.yahoo.co.uk and smtp.yahoo.co.uk (those
names and mail.yahoo.co.uk are all aliases of the same machine,
rc1.vip.ukl.yahoo.com) still responded to free Yahoo! accounts. Perhaps
that has been changed now.

What error message(s) do you get? What are your server settings?

Thanks for replying Brian,
It keeps asking me for my user ID and password but it fails to accept them!
- i never had a problem with Outlook Express and my Yahoo e.mail up to three
days ago when it started acting up. Since then I have changed laptops and am
now provided with Outloo 2003 which appears to be a better system anyway. I
really would prefer to use this system as opposed to the basic Yahoo. Any
ideas ?

I'd ask Yahoo!.

Brian,
This might sound stupid, but how do I contact Yahoo by e.mail to ask them
about this problem ?

Did you try (e-mail address removed) or (e-mail address removed)?
