How do I turn off the automatic coding feature in frontpage 2002?

When I try to use the html function in frontpage 2002 I can't delete certain
codes because frontpage keeps auto inserting them. Is there a way to turn
off this function so I can write the code myself? The code frontpage
generates is not compatible with w3 regulations.

By the way, there are no regulations. There are suggested standards, and
yes, it's a great idea to code to the standards....
