You don't mention what version of Office/Outlook you are using, but with
Outlook 2003 (using Word as the e-mail editor) I just select the text in
question > right click > font > check the box for superscript.

The Subject is the introduction to your post, like the title branded
on the cover of a book. The details are supposed to be included in
the body of your post. What details you say? Well, how about telling
us if you are using the embedded new-mail editor in Outlook or are
using Word to compose new mails. Outlook's embedded editor is a
simplistic editor so it won't include every possible feature of Word
(unless you are using OL2007 which only uses Word for composing new
mails - but you never mentioned the *detail* of WHICH version of
Outlook that you use). If you are using Word (which significantly
bloats the size of e-mails), it's own help will tell you how to use
the superscripted font style.
