how do I un-hide my system tray alert envelope?

Yeah, so I accidentally clicked "hide envelope" on the little envelope that
pops up in the system tray every time a new email arrives, and now I can't
figure out how to get it back. Any help is appreciated.

HI Mike,

Open Outlook > Tools > Options > Preference Tab > E-Mail Options > Advanced
Email Options

Right-click the Taskbar anc choose Properties. Click Customize. Scroll
down to the "YOu have new unopened items" icon and change "Always hide" or
"Hide when inactive" to "Always show". Click OK, then OK.

Brian, I made an account here to be able to reply 'cos I'm not satisfied with
Your replys like that, repeated many times in other responses - You need
Windows XP to use it ... That's not a question of Windows (as You wrote
elsewhere) - Andreas's answer is better 'cos it's more natural to set it in
Outlook than in Windows.

But I have another suggestion - to relabel "Hide icon" to "Do not display
the envelope icon" - and people won't addle the sense ... "Hide icon" is
considered as "hide only this time" which I'd expect - this functionality
should be added to options of this icon ... And also be able to hide Outlook
icon but display Envelope icon (as used to be) ...
