how do i uninstall word 5.5 for dos?

I downloaded Word 5.5 for DOS (because it was free) but now I have hundreds
of icons all over my desktop. Is there a way to uninstall this mess without
creating more mess?

Did you try Add/Remove Program? Not sure if that will work but it should
have been the first thing you tried.

And why would you want to run a 16 yr old program that runs on DOS? YUCK!
WordPad will do the same thing and then some.

DOS applications do not use the registry settings that Windows applications
require. They simply install into a folder and you seem to have installed to
the desktop folder, hence the mess. The only solution is to delete all the
unwanted files from the desktop folder using Windows Explorer. - You should
be able to determine from the file dates which are the ones pertaining to
this application and which to Windows.
