How do I unlock a document in all office programs

I received this product about three weeks ago and it ran great. Last night I
closed out excel and then went back into it. At that time I could not
anything in excel. I then went to word and powerpoint and found the same
thing happening. The message I am getting is that the document is locked for
editing. How do I get these all unlocked?
