How do I unlock a selection?

I just got my laptop for Christmas and had Microsoft Office 2007 installed
onto it. I've used it multiple times for my schoolwork and have never had
any problems. But just last week I tried to open up one of my resent
documents and it would not allow me to do anything to it and it said, "this
modification is not allowed because the selection is locked." This shows up
with both my previous and any new document I try to use. How do I fix this
problem?

It sounds like your laptop came with a trial version of Office 2007, that
only allows you to use if for a limited period and that period has now
expired.

To be able to continue using the software, you will need to buy a normal
copy of the software. As a student, you should be able to take advantage of
the discounted pricing available for the student and Teacher edition. See:

http://store.microsoft.com/microsof...oduct/5A8AA492?WT.mc_id=wmplandingpage_OHSbut beware, that version does not include Access or Outlook. You canprobably however get by without the other by using Windows Live Mail.--Hope this helps,Doug Robbins - Word MVPPlease reply only to the newsgroups unless you wish to obtain my services ona paid professional basis."Britney10" <[email protected]> wrote in messagejust got my laptop for Christmas and had Microsoft Office 2007 installed> onto it.
