How do I unlock locked documents?

In Microsoft Word 2003, I'm having a problem typing on word or previously
saved documents via floppy discs. When I try to edit or anything, it tells
me "This modification is not allowed because this document is locked." If
anybody knows anything reguarding this issue, please get back to at
(e-mail address removed).

Thanks.

First, don't open or save a document located on a floppy disk when using
Word, because you will probably corrupt the file. Copy the file to your
hard drive, and work on the copy on the HD.

If both new and existing documents are locked for editing, the problem
is probably because you have not activated your Word/Office software, or
because you have an expired trial version of Office 2003. What happens
if you start Word and click on Help | Activate Product? If you are
already activated, a dialog box saying so will appear. If you are not
activated, the Activation Wizard will start. If you have an expired
trial version, a dialog box will prompt you to enter a valid product key
or purchase a key online.
