how do I upgrade from Office 2000 to 2003

Hank

I purchased Office Small Business 97 with a Dell Computer in 1999. I
received the upgrade to 2000 as a part of the PC purchase.

I have bought a new computer. It has a trial version of 2003 Student
Teacher version.

I tried to upgrade to 2003 without loading 97 and 2000 on the new computer
using the Authenticity Key from my 2000 version. Microsoft tells me it is
invalid key.

What am I doing wrong? Must I load MSO 2000 on my new computer in order to
purchase the upgrade to 2003?

Thanks.

Hank

The Authenticity Key from 2000 version will not work on a 2003 product. That
Authenticity Key is only good for your 2000 product. Did you purchase a
retail boxed version of MSO 2003 upgrade? If you did it should have come
with the Product Key on the back of the CD.

There is page on the microsoft Office page that talks about which prior
version qualify for a upgrade.
