How do I upgrade my older Microsoft office 2000, when I'm using X.

WE ARE USING XP PROFESSIONAL. HOWEVER, WE HAVE THE OLDER MIROSOFT OFFICE
2000. In doing a computer check, they want me to upgrade using
o2ksr1a.exe

Our computer will now allow this and give me an error message that it won't
work with XP and is not WIN32 compatable. I am a "newbie" in that I need
clear directions.
