How do I upgrade Office 2003 standard to Office 2003 professional

I have a new computer that has Office 2003 standard edition and want to
upgrade to Office 2003 professional edition. I think it is called a
crossgrade, but I have no idea how to do it. Is there "crossgrade" software?

MS provides specially priced packages for upgrading MS Office from an older version of Office or from MS Works to MS Office, but it
doesn't generally offer special pricing for moving within the same series.

If you've had the MS Office retail software less than 30 days it can be returned for credit.

You may want to check with the PC supplier. Sometimes they
have special 'exchange' upgrade offers available for Office.

I have Works 8 from my old computer, can I install it and use an upgrade to
Office 2003 professional (I have aready purchased it, sales person said it
was what I needed) it says it is compatable.......... Would I have to
delete the Office 2003 Standard that was on the computer when I bought it?
Thanks

Yes, MS Works is a qualifying product for MS Office 2003 Professional Edition.
In the case of a crossgrade it would usually be a cleaner way to go to backup your files, uninstall the first Office 2003 edition,
restart the computer then install the new edition.
