How do I use Desktop alerts with my hotmail folder?

I am going to guess No. Is Live an upgrade from hotmail plus? I have not
heard of Outlook Connector either.

Outlook Live is a version of Outlook available with Hotmail Premium and that
along with the Outlook Connector add-in that allows you to designate your
Hotmail folders as your delivery location. I believe that would allow
desktop alerts to execute.

So I take it that the only way is to upgrade from plus to premium. Thank you
for your help on both of my outlook problems.
