How do I use log scale x-axis

I have to plot .028 to 8760 on x-scale on a x-y plot. I am tried to use log
scal, but it does not work with numbers less than 10. Can you suggest me some
way out. I would like the smaller values on the plot curve to show. The
values past 24 are basically a straight line with only 2 to 3 values.
