How do I use $today + some number of days for a filter on PWA?

We are trying to provide a special filter for view assignments with only
those tasks that start or end in the next 30 days. Tried using the tracking
setting, but it did not filter for view assignments on timesheets. So
thought I would try a custom filter with a combination of saved links, but
can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas?
