Basically what I need is a year planner and I guess MS project is the best
tool. Currently I use Excel as a year planner to block out time (days, weeks &
months) for forth coming projects. This gives me a view of the entire year
and allows me to move and reschedule projects, but as you can guess I can't
easily move projects around (see below example)
Resource Month week1 week2 week3 week4
---------------------------------------------------------------------
fred Jan ---------------project 1----
burt Jan ---------------project2------------------
fred Feb ---project1-------
burt Feb ------------project2----------
instantly from this i can see that fred has free time Jan in week1 and feb
weeks 3 & 4. where as burt only has feb week4 free. so if i had to fit a 2
week project in for fred in jan this would push project1 end time into week3.
To me that sounds like what Project does. But all i can find is a calendar
view of a month.
Any help would be most appiciated
