Its as easy as saving your OneNote files to a floppy either at work or at
home and then copy them back to whichever. These files all end with the
extenstion .one

Do a search for *.one to find where they are saved on your computer.

Make sure you use OneNote SP1, then chose one of your PC's to store the
"original" onenote files. Share this computers My Documents\My Notebook\
folder.
I chose my Desktop for that task.

On your second PC Map this Network Share to a drive letter (for example Z:)
so you see the other PC's My Notebook folder with a driveletter under "My
Computer"
Now make sure you have offline files enabled (Start -> Control Panel ->
Folder Options -> Offline Files (Tab)
Here you can enable and specify the disk space used for offline files (make
sure it can hold your other pcs notebook folder...)
Now go to the shared folder with the driveletter and right click on it and
chose "Make available offline" and chose to make all subfolders and their
contents available as well.

Let it synchronize your notebook. Just always make sure OneNote is closed on
both PCs (The system tray icon is OK, just dont have OneNote itself open on
either PC)

First time will take some time until it copied all the files.
Now open up OneNote on that PC and change the Notebook storage folder (under
Options somewhere) to the drive letter you assigned to the Notebook share
from the other PC.

Maybe close and open OneNote before you can use it now.

Just remember NOT to work on both PCs simultaneously. Even opening up a few
files without apparently changing anything can result in altering files.
Synchronization has a problem with files that changed in both locations...

You can set synchronization either to work automatically (at startup, at
logoff, at time intervals) or you can do it manually (either Start ->
Programs -> Accessories -> Synchronize; or open an explorer and under Tools
you should be able to find "Synchronize" <-- my preferred method)

SP1 for OneNote improved something with Synchronization, so you should make
sure you have it installed on both machines...

So far it hasn't let me down...

Where is all that data??
Physically it is per default stored in a subfolder of the Windows folder
(CSC i think, it's hidden as far as i can remember). There is a way to move
this to another place...
In there, Windows manages the files and folders you made available offline
even though it looks completely different. Windows has its own file
structure there...
To better "access" them yourself just go to the mapped network share you
created and treat it as if it was on your own harddisk.

Unless you are working with superhuge sections (.one files), synchronization
is done within the blink of an eye :D

Just make sure to synchronize whenever you changed something on one pc...

hope that helps, took me some time and inet research to figure this out
myself...
Could work much easier imho, but that is the best I think is possible at the
moment...
