how do I write a character reference for a friend?

Need to know Greg!

Hiya people. I am trying to write a character reference for a friend of mine
who, for some reason needs this to get a loan!! I don't know why but am
trying to help her out. Apparently all she needs is this as the money is
waiting for her. I have never heard of a loan company asking for this before
so I amhoping someone out there has.

So write a character reference or do a Google Search to see if you can find
an example.
