How do I...

Dear all,

How do I do the following please...

Cell A1 contains a number from 1 to 100.

Cells B1-B100 (depending on nr in cell A1) will be filled with blue.

i.e. if cell A1 contains the number 40, cells B1-B40 are all highlighted blue.

Thanking-you in advance,

Neil

Have a look at Format | Conditional Formatting
Then come back if more help needed

If I insert a number into column B cells, i.e. B1 "1", B2 "2", B3 "3"... then
conditionally format the column to fill blue "if less than or equal to $A$1"
it works.

However this means that the cells in column B are filled with numbers when I
ideally wish to fill them for additional information.

In CF, use Formula Is, rather than Cell Value Is, and use the formula
=ROW()<=$A$1
