how do others read my Publisher 2003 or 2007 documents

I have Publisher 2003 (looking to upgrade '07). I've done my own templates
for receipts, invoices, remittance advice etc and I'm sending them via email.
Is there a way for others to read my publisher documents when they don't have
publisher?

Send them as PDF files, then anyone with Acrobat Reader (almost everyone
these days) can read them reliably.

Even better would be to output your blank invoice/receipts etc...as a PDF,
then with a PDF creator (Acrobat Pro, or any Acrobat clone} capable of
creating a fillable PDF form, make them into forms. That way you won't blow
out the design when you fill them out...and file size is much smaller, and
easier to store.

You'd create the form as a blank, then fill it out and do a Save As for each
invoice or whatever.

Thanks. Sorry to ask the simplest of questions but I'm learning as I go. Does
this mean I have to purchase Acrobat to transform them into a PDF file or is
this a part of Publisher that I have not discovered yet?

Many people use free PDF printers (just like Adobe's program but smaller and
faster.) The one I use and recommend is the free program and download at
http://primopdf.com/ (When you click on the download button it will take you
to CNet download page. This is a safe site to download from.)
