how do you accomplish a trim ?

Thanks John - That's the closest I've come so far. I tried what yo
suggested, and I'm almost there. I don't know why it didn't want t
work before. Maybe because I wasn't moving the unwanted segment out o
there, and didn't realize it had been segmented. So, If I draw
circle, and draw two intersecting lines, select all of them, then mov
the unwanted circle portion out of there and delete it, I'm left with
pie shaped object. What else would I have to do to get 40 degrees of th
radius line only ?

The Size and Position dialog (from under the view menu) will let you specify
the angle as well as the position of the shape. To make it easier, set the
ends of the line to match up with the center of the circle.
