How do you add a word document to a web site

S

Stephen

I have created a Website in Microsfot Punlisher 2000 using Windows 98 SE and
have successfully attached and able to launch a Word 2000 document. I have
now changed my PC to XP and I am now using Microsfot Publisher 2003 which
comes with Microsfot Office Professional 2003. The same website on the new
PC will not launch the Word Document which is saved in my folder. The
hyperlinks are ok and the docurment is attached but will not launch in
Website preview. Yet it work well on Windows 98 SE.

Would appreciate an email back to help with this problem. My email address
is (e-mail address removed).

Thankyou

as covered on the FAQ page at
http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=30
version 2000 would copy "external" files (i.e. a Word doc) into the
"publish" folder and automatically maintain the link and upload the file. As
of version 2002 this is no longer the case.
With 2002/2003 "external" files ARE NOT included nor is there a "publish"
folder. It is the burden of the customer to upload the external file to the
web server and to hyperlink the link to the files URL address.
