How do you add animation to an Excel bar chart in Powerpoint?

Hi All,

I have a presentation where one of my slides has an Excel bar chart on
it. I would like to add 'basic' animations such as the bar appearing
and growing. What's the best to do this?

Also, I have another line chart that I would like for the lines to
grow at certain data points.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciate it!

If the chart animations in PowerPoint don't offer you the control you need,
you can always ungroup a chart, and animate the elements individually.

Remember: you'll have to ungroup it twice, and make a copy of your Excel
chart before you do this because an ungrouped chart won't be editable.

Try: (this is for xp / 2003)

Select the chart > slide show >custom animation
apply eg an animation of wipe from bottom (depending on chart type)
double click the entry and in "chart animation" choose something other than
as one object (again depends on chart type) and untick "animate grid & legend"

Hope that helps
