How do you add axes titles/labels?

Why has MS got rid of the easy way to add/change an axis label? Newer versions are supposed to be more intuitive, not less. I've read through the blogs, but can figure out a simple way to add the words Growth (cm) as a y-axis label. It used to be so simple in older versions.

I guess it depends what the "easy way" was for you. There are so many
ways to do some things what's easy for one is not the same for all.

My preference for "easy" in Office 2004 had been to use the Chart
Wizard. But from a quick look if the Wizard still exists it's
certainly not as accessible as it used to be!

Opening an old spreadsheet containing a graph with no y-axis label the
only way I found quickly to add one was via the formatting palette.

If the formatting palette is not visible select it in the View menu
Click on the graph
In the formatting palette open the "Chart Options" section
Select Vertical (Value) axis under the Titles section
Enter the label you want in the text box immediately below.

(Looks like the term "y-axis" is too technical for Excel. :)

So where did the Wizard go?

As far as I can tell it's replaced by the Charts "button" in the area
between the main toolbar and the body of the spreadsheet.
