How do you animate a background loop that plays across all slide?

I can get a background video playing, but can't get it to cross slides. Each
slide it comes to the fore-front and starts playing again instead of
seamlessly playing across the background. Any ideas?

Right-click on the video shape and select "Custom Animation" menu item,
select the video play drop-down box in the Custom Animation taskpane and
select "Effect Options" menu item, select "After" in "Stop Playing" section
and put the number of slides you want the video to stop after, click OK.
This will make the video play across slides.
