How Do You Backup Files in Shared Documents

Call me old fashioned but try to backup all of your documents that exist in
the Shared Documents folder with a program such as Veritas Backup Exec and
you will find that you can't even discover their location on the server. It
makes me very nervous when I cannot backup files, especially critical ones to
our clients' projects. Any suggestions?

All SharePoint content is stored in the database. Backup your content
database, and you've backed up your documents.
