How do you batch import pictures into a Word Doc?

J

Julian Ganoudis

Actually, I would like to batch import and batch resize pictures in the Word
Doc!

I routinly have to insert 10-20 pictures into a doc and resize each
individually. Also, I can not select multiple pics from the
file/insert/picture menu by using the ctrl key (don't know why--seems like it
should), so I have to insert one at a time then resize. I would appreciate
any help with automating this process.

TIA

Julian

If the pictures are In line with text, you won't be able to use Ctrl+click
to select multiple pictures at the same time. You'd have to change their
wrapping to one of the floating/draggable options.

Barring that... you sometimes can perform formatting on one picture using a
dialog box (for example), then click another picture and press F4 (redo) to
apply the same formatting to the other picture. If you don't do anything
between the formatting of picture #1, selecting picture #2 and pressing
F4... then you should be able to sequentially format all of the pictures by
clicking on each one and pressing F4. I used that technique successfully
often.

A more efficient approach, however, might be to use Microsoft Office Picture
Manager to batch edit the pictures before inserting them into Word.

Thanks Herb...F4 works OK and is faster than what I've been doing, but I
still can't conrtol click. If I start with a blank document and try to
insert pictures, I can only select one picture at a time from the insert
picture pop up box. So you can go to insert picture and control click
multiple pics/files? Thanks!

I don't have access to Word 2000 to check what settings are available.
However... are you sure the pictures are set to something other than In line
with text? They have to be formatted to some other kind of wrapping style to
be selected in the way you are trying.
