I know how to prepare a table of contents from the text already written
for my document. A brief account of the process I use for this is:
(1) Define a set styles;
(2) Write the content under different headings with each heading havnig
a paragraph;
(3) Format each heading you want to see in the Table Of Contents (TOC)
by applying a style on it. Either choose a system-defined style or the
ones you pre-defined just moments before (as mentioned in step (1)).
(4) Choose Insert -> Tables/Indexes and define the types of bullets and
listing you want to see in the TOC.
Bingo!
However, I do not know how to add numbers to the TOC and to the content
like so,
Table Of Contents
1. Routine
1.1 Routine For Each Day
1.1.1 Sunday
1.1.1.1 Bell the cat
1.1.1.2 Kill the rat
1.1.1.3 Eat the rat
1.1.1.4 Spread the mat
1.1.1.5 Grow fat
1.1.2 Monday
1.1.2.1 Do something nice with wife
1.1.2.2 Do something nice with neighbour's wife
1.1.2.3 ......
1.1.2.4 ......
2. ....
3. ....
That way. How do you do that?
