Click the mouse on the file name and then press the delete key.
But make SURE you don't need them before doing this.
Deleted files go into your recycle bin but after you empty the rectcle bin
they are gone forever.

Are you talking about deleting databases, database templates, or data within
a database? What are the names of some of these databases?

As you proclaim to be a new learner of Access, I highly recommend that you
don't delete ANYTHING until you are at least 98% sure that it won't be a
mistake.

I believe you are referring to the list of recently opened databases.

That list of recently opened databases is maintained in the registry. There
is no good, safe method of editing the list. My advice is to ignore the ones
that are no longer relevant.

Hi John,

Here is a safe way of removing items from the list:

To delete the most recently used files list in the 2007 Microsoft Office
suites, follow these steps:
Start the program that you want to modify.
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click <Program Name> Options.

Note <Program Name> is the name of the program that you want to modify.
Click Advanced.
In the Display area, click to select the number of files in the Show this
number of Recent Documents list.
Type the number of files that you want to display, and then click OK.
If you do not want to display any files, type 0.

Ok, does that remove the documents from the list maintained in the registry or
does it just not show the oldest documents?

Also, what if I want to remove something other than the oldest? I know I
could open the ones I want to keep so they would move up on the list and then
change the number of items displayed.

My personal opinion is live with it. Eventually the list will show an
accurate list of the most recent (existing) databases.

Hi John,
Ok, does that remove the documents from the list maintained in the registry or

I believe it either removes the keys, or sets the values to zero length
strings. I can test this later on tonight, if you are interested. In Office
2003 products, setting the value to 0 and then back to it's original value
does not allow you to recall past entries.
Also, what if I want to remove something other than the oldest?

Setting the value to 0 is an all-or-nothing thing. If you have one that you
always want retained, then it's time to set up a custom .reg file that you
can double-click on whenever you want to reset your list. I have a custom
..reg file for resetting the MRU (Most Recently Used) list for Internet
Explorer. It works great for me.
