How do you delete stubborn horizontal line???

Hello -

Working in Word 2000, and there's this horizontal line that's near the
bottom of the document. I can't delete it. I can move it up and down
when click-dragging with the mouse, but I can't hit the right mouse
button over it and see any options to delete it. I can't highlight and
delete it. I can't even cut and paste the remaining portion of the
document into a new document without it following! Is it some setting
somewhere? How do I get rid of it???

Thanks!

Good morning!

Go to Formatting | Borders and Shading and select none and change the
color from automatic to white. This should resolve your problem.

Thank you for replying! I will try that...
