Drawing on pictures in Word x for Mac

How do you draw lines on large pictures transferred into Word.

How do you stop Word from switching to "page layout view," when
trying too use "line," on the drawing menu.

It switches in normal, outline, master document. Outline layout adds a
giant margin.

Drag a picture from the Web into Word. Drag a corner larger, back to
Web size. Then click on "Line," to try to draw lines on the
picture.

Word usually snaps to "page layout view," wiping out the view, of
half the picture.

I enlarged the page setup. The documents still show up with border
around the page, picture half off the screen.

Hi Nomad,

You may want to also post this in the Word:Mac newsgroup
(link below). Generally, the drawing tools in Word work
in a graphics 'layer' rather than in the text 'layer'.
That layer isn't available in the draft (normal) or
outline views.
